SpliceCom and the Environment

With the increase in environmental awareness over the last few years, more and more businesses are looking at ways in which they can improve the impact that they have on the environment. Aside from looking at our own working practices, this means that our customers are choosing products that will help them to reduce their own carbon footprint, whilst making ethical purchasing decisions based on their suppliers’ commitment to environmental management. This paper serves to outline the key ways in which SpliceCom are reducing their impact on the environment, and how maximiser and the PCS range of business telephones can enable our customers to do the same.

SpliceCom’s vision for a sustainable society

SpliceCom is committed to playing a leading role in helping establish a sustainable society. We recognise that the Earth is an irreplaceable asset and believe it is our duty of humankind to hand it over to future generations as we found it, if not in a better condition. Accordingly, SpliceCom promotes solid environmental management practices across all our products and business processes, with a particular focus on:

The prevention of global warming

SpliceCom’s efforts to prevent global warming are centred on the reduction of energy-orientated CO2 emissions, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (other than CO 2) and the reduction of CO2 emissions associated with product logistics.

Control of chemical substances

SpliceCom’s desire is to have our customers use our products with confidence and to prevent the release of harmful substances into the environment. The European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive bans the use of certain chemical substances in products. SpliceCom was an early supporter of this directive, placing the company at the forefront of efforts to hasten the emergence of a sustainable society. All our products are RoHS compliant.

Efficient utilisation of resources

SpliceCom strives to reduce the rate of waste generated, increasing the recycling of used products and achieving Zero Emissions. SpliceCom is focused on working with manufacturing partners who maintain Zero Emissions at their factories, laboratories and other subsidiaries. Zero Emissions is achieved when the quantity of waste for a landfill after treatment is equivalent to 1% or less of the total amount of waste discharged.
